Formula / Method

What the calculator does

The calculator multiplies quantity by watts per device, sums the rack load, converts watts into current using the selected voltage and checks the highest feed utilization.

Current (A) = Power (W) ÷ Voltage (V)

FAQ

Power notes

Does A/B feed mean double available power?

Not usually. A/B feeds often provide redundancy. If one feed fails, the remaining side may need to support the load.

Should I use measured power or nameplate power?

Measured power is usually more realistic, but nameplate values are useful for conservative early planning.

Why check safe utilization?

Safe utilization gives planning headroom for continuous operation, imbalance, measurement uncertainty and future expansion.
